Where the schools are

Most Pakistani curriculum schools are in Sharjah and Ajman, with others in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. That is one reason many families working in Dubai choose to live in Sharjah or Ajman.

The school year starts in April

Like most Indian schools, Pakistani curriculum schools in the UAE start their academic year in April, not August. If you arrive in the summer, your child may join mid-year. Plan admission as early as possible, as popular schools fill up.

Documents you will need

• Child’s passport and residence visa or Emirates ID (or the application).
• The last two years of school reports.
• A transfer or leaving certificate, attested as the school requires.
• Birth certificate and vaccination records.
• Passport photos and the parent’s visa and Emirates ID.

Extra costs to budget

Add registration, uniform, books and the school bus. For a Pakistani school these extras are usually AED 3,000 to 7,000 a year per child, mostly the bus.
